Be Patient With Yourself…

“Patience is the ability to survive the season of not yet.”- Pastor Mike Walrond

Patience… A word that has been flashing through my brain frequently as of late.

When I think of patience, I think of getting rid of the urge to be in control.

Patience is accepting the fact that we don’t have all the answers and that is okay.

We want to know what’s next. We want to know if our time is being wasted. We want to know if we’re going down the right path.

But the true beauty of life is seen through experience AND not trying to rush through it.

Being impatient simply means you are worrying about a time that does not yet exist, the future.

Want to live a life worth telling? It may seem obsolete in today’s culture, but I challenge you to take the charge….

Be present.

Being present is a risk that requires a lot of faith. Faith requires patience to focus on now rather than what’s ahead because you’ve given that authority to God.

Just like my favorite Dr. King quote states; “Faith is taking the first step without seeing the whole staircase.”

I repeat….

“Patience is the ability to survive the season of not yet.”- Pastor Mike Walrond

The tunnel of life looks dark but keep going.

How can we ever grow and evolve as a person if all we do is quit in the middle?

Patience creates perseverance.

Perseverance builds character.

If you stumble mid-way, make it part of your dance.

Be patient with yourself.

Be patient with life and even if it doesn’t make sense now…eventually it will.

Colossians 1:11-12 NRSV

11 May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father…

Hebrew 10:23 NLT

23Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
